In line with GE Vernova's mission to Electrify and Decarbonize the world, this role will lead our global sales efforts for our carbon emissions management software solution, 'CERius'.

The Global Commercial Leader - CERius is a customer facing, people leader responsible for winning business for our carbon emissions management software solution. This role will have ownership and responsibility of the global quota for the product line as well as a global team of Direct Sales and Industry Principals. High levels of Commercial judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

Job Description

This Global Commercial Leader will drive acceleration of a commercialization strategy for the CERius product line within GEVs Power & Energy Resources Software (PERS) division. The successful leader will be responsible for developing a new sales organization into a new logo/hunting first mindset team, embracing lean principles and a startup, founders' mentality, and developing best practices and operations (Account Plans, Deal Reviews, and Close Plans) that facilitate the execution of a strong order and revenue achievement.

The immediate deliverables will include executing on the 2025 CERius solution orders plan, strong pipeline development / management, input into the 2025 strategic planning cycle and regular Path to Plan reviews with Sr. Leaders. Success in this role will depend on an Enterprise approach, team selling mentality and strong partnership with other business functions exe. regional Commercial Leaders, Product Management, Marketing, Channels and Ecosystems and other GEV business units.

Your responsibilities:

  • Galvanize and create one cohesive team that is key part of the Global Power & Energy Resources Software team. Overall ownership for GEV PERS Direct sales and commercial activities globally reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer.
  • Ability to drive new logo pipeline generation while also expanding CERius sales withing our existing customer base resulting in a team pipeline that is 4 times the Global orders target.
  • Developing commercial expertise globally across different high emitting vertical markets such as a Power Generation, Oil and Gas (full stream) and Mining & Metals.
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and maintaining the voice of the customer by recommending improvement to products, processes, operations, and services.
  • Utilizes understanding of industry trends in the Energy Transition and specifically decarbonization to find creative solutions to address complex projects, collaboration with other product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers.
  • Ability to lead both direct teams as well as multi-functional teams required for enterprise selling motion.
  • Influences peers to take action and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.
  • Build strong, productive GTM relationships with Partners and other GEV Business Units likes. Gas Power, Renewables, Consulting Services etc...
  • Drive alignment with the Product Team while identifying and developing innovative solutions that solves our customers most difficult outcomes.
  • Foster a collaborative relationship with Commercial Operations, Legal, Customer Support, Customer Service, Services, and Finance organizations while also leveraging functional peers within region bus also working closely with the other Regional Commercial Leaders
  • Be a team leader Standard Work development, Lean Problem Solving, Kaizen, and Hoshin methodology.

Your profile

  • 10+ years Sales Leadership experience in SaaS, enterprise software sales.
  • Strong understanding enterprise software sales processes and methodologies with demonstrated success, year on year.
  • Experience with enterprise, consultative and value selling sales approaches
  • You'll have led a team of 10 or more resources such as direct sellers, solution architects, etc, while building a multi-cultural team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage with executives and drive a value sale methodology.
  • Leadership experience either in a formal or informal setting, leading industrial software commercial resources while selling solutions
  • Track record for achieving quarterly and annual team goals while also having a strong acumen for long term strategic thinking 3 years into the future.
  • Ability to lead and coach others with Transparency, Humility, and Accountability.
  • Collaborated with existing channel partners, system integrators, technical partners, etc. as well as a rolodex of potential new partners.
  • SFDC hygiene and forecasting discipline.
  • Demonstrated successful use of close plans, account plans and stakeholder mapping.
  • Ability to travel 50+%.

  • Carbon Accounting work experience, familiar with Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Science Based Target Initiative (SBTI), others.
  • High energy, participatory style. Engaging with Internal Stakeholders to win as a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including creativity and curiosity with ability to effectively communicate and influence across multiple organizational levels.

  • Identifies and prioritizes critical resources needed to further the sales effort, negotiating with all client and internal stakeholders.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $172,000USD - $258,000USD. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for commission.
