As a Generator Electrical Calculation Engineer, you will be responsible for electromagnetic, cooling and ventilation design of large Generators (typically Steam turbine powered) and Synchronous Condensers, e.g. for upgrades, new builds, large spare parts, outage support, failure analysis, etc.
You will be a member of the Generator Electrical Calculation team, which is multi-locational and multi-cultural. This team works in collaboration with other departments including Design Engineering, Mechanical Calculation and Project Management to conceptualize, design and document the solution for manufacturing, installation, and operation.

Roles and Responsibilities
Success in this role looks like:
- You will learn about turbogenerators, power plants, and grid related phenomena in the existing fleet around the world.
- You will acquire and develop deep knowledge in multi-physics (electrotechnics, ventilation and heat exchange) taking place in generators and associated systems.
- You will get skilled in using and developing calculation methods with different internal and external software tools, analytic as well as numerical/Finite Elements.
Your role:
- You will work closely with the other engineering teams and provide support where needed.
- You will be using in-house calculation tools as well as commercial tools such as Ansys (Workbench, Maxwell, CFX or Fluent) and Matlab.
- You will participate in Root Cause Analysis.
- You will contribute with innovative concept ideas in new product definition and execution phase.
- You will help to improve our internal calculation processes and tools.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably in one of the flowing fields: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical & Power Engineering, Thermal or Fluid Dynamics Engineering.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Desired Qualifications / Mindset:
- Passion for technology and engineering.
- Interest in the mathematical modelling of physical phenomena.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and basic knowledge in high current machines.
- Practical experience in use of engineering/multi-physics tools like Ansys (Workbench, preferably also: Maxwell or CFX or Fluent), Matlab or similar tools.
- Experience in algorithm creation and programming (any programming language).
