Job Description

The FP&A Leader will be responsible in spearheading the FP&A activities for GSI Central Europe region, including the local Product Development Group activities. In this role, the individual will translate concepts, develop strategies and implement core rhythms working closely with region's Finance Leader and leadership team members. He/She will help manage core financial processes and reporting, and be a critical business partner to drive execution of business strategy.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and financial leadership in planning, directing, and integrating all aspects of budgeting, reporting, and analyzing activities.
  • Lead planning cycles including developing budget/operating plans, performing reviews, engaging in Long Term Strategy outlook and coordinating with HQ.
  • Responsible for monthly/quarterly closing and developing reliable estimates of Orders, Sales, Operating Margin, FCF, Working capital and other key related metrics. Analyze variances, communicate results and drive appropriate actions.
  • Track progress against plans at a granular level. Identify risks & opportunities each quarter and lead team in mitigating risks/realizing opportunities while capitalizing on opportunities.
  • Understand, communicate and explain variance drivers within business. Segment them into unusuals, controllables etc. to drive decision making.
  • Support Region General Manager, finance leader and region leadership team in evaluating investment strategies linked to various "what if" customer & external market driven scenarios for strategic business planning purposes.
  • Be a Growth agent driving top line & bottom line growth. Champion cost & productivity initiatives across.
  • Optimize Free Cash Flow by developing reliable estimates focusing on critical areas such as external collections, external payments, intercompany settlements among others. Put a process in place to aid forecasting process and drive mindset change.
  • Own balance sheet components for reporting & analysis from reserves, accruals to WIP, inventory, Deferred Charges/Progress Collections and others. Support Controllership requirement as necessary.
  • Drive standardization & process improvement in all aspects of planning and reporting, including best practice sharing.
  • Support Product Development Group activities that are originating within CE region from FP&A standpoint.
  • Ownership of any other ad-hoc requests/workstreams that are part of overall FP&A function.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration, CPA or equivalent.
  • Proven experience of progressive finance work in Energy or related industries.
  • Finance experience of handling EPC/Turnkey type projects is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.
  • Experience with SAP is highly advantageous. Familiarity with Tableau, Unifier and other project related tools. Strong MS Office skills especially Excel and PowerPoint are critical.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment, strong stakeholder engagement.

Desired characteristics

  • Graduate of GE's Financial Management Program (FMP), Experienced Financial Leadership Program (EFLP) or Corporate Audit Staff (CAS); or graduate of relevant financial leadership programs.
  • Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma.
  • Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Confidence/Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions.
