Job Description Summary
responsible to lead compliant and efficient statutory activities for different legal entities located in the LAM region (Mexico,), as well as overseeing the execution of strategic statutory goals. The local statutory process primarily includes the oversite of account reconciliations, US GAAP-to-Stat-to-Tax reconciliations, preparation of statutory financial statements, attendance of external auditors, tax compliance process as well as statutory and governance management. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and will manage a team based.

• Responsible to ensure that all statutory and reporting steps are executed compliantly and efficiently.

• Responsible to collaborate with statutory and leaders across GE Vernova and other service providers to ensure local statutory processes are complete and accurate, and that key metrics are accurately maintained.
• Develop and execute any necessary remediation plans for account reconciliations and monitor and collaborate with other regional stat leaders and tax controllers on similar efforts globally as required.
• Collaborate with in-country service providers to identify opportunities to reduce statutory costs and manage risks.
• Responsible for the oversight of a team that will support monthly or quarter close initiatives that includes pre-close key metrics reviews to identify risks and opportunities and other close initiatives such tax computation, processes improvements, legal entities simplification and technology developments as well.
• Liaise with accounting and IT system teams to enhance and develop system capabilities to provide data required for GE statutory compliance and reporting processes.
• Production of accurate statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS or local GAAPs which must be audited.
• Responsible to manage and attend external and internal auditors, including tax inspections when necessary.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 8 years of public accounting and/or multinational corporate accounting experience
• CPA, Chartered Accountant or equivalent
• Proven analytical and project management skills
• Previous experience with tax aspects (direct and indirect)
• English at communication and written business level
• Local (IFRS) & US GAAP expertise
