Essential Responsibilities
- Performs complicated operation involving dismantling, rewinding, repairing, reassembling, testing, etc., on large or more complicated AC and DC equipment such as, turbine generator stators and fields.
- May dismantle and make repairs to large commutators and collector rings.
- May band and install core insulation on all type of rotating equipment.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites on short notice domestically and internationally.
- Basic safety mind set.

- Must have achieved a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Meet a minimum of 1 of the following requirements: (1) Minimum of 1 year of experience performing testing / inspection and conducting repairs (re-wedge, rewind and high voltage bushing) of generators in excess of 80 Megawatts OR; (2) Minimum of 1 years of experience doing disassembly / reassembly work on large generators in either industrial or utility power plant OR; (3) Minimum of 1 years of experience with large scale electrical components or as an electrician.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to pass drug and background screens.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Valid US Driver's License.
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
- Ability and willingness to travel on short notice to customer sites located domestically and internationally 100% of the time.
- Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear fueled facility.
- Ability and willingness to work mandatory overtime and weekend day/night shifts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic Computer Skills - weekly time entry, expense reports, email, travel reservations
- Ability to continuously (5 - 8+ hours a day) lift/carry, push/pull, bend/stoop/twist, crouch/squat, reach at or above/below shoulder level in confined space.
- Ability to continuously (5 - 8+ hours a day) have repetitive use of hands, fingering, frequency of repetitions, flex/extend neck, stand and walk.
- Ability to frequently (2 - 5+ hours a day) climb/balance and use vibrating tools/equipment.
Desired characteristics:
- Two-year technical or Trade School Degree
- Accomplished skills in their trade with experience on Power Generation Equipment
- Induction Brazzing Experience
- High voltage electrical testing and troubleshooting, HiPot, insulation resistance testing
- Previous unescorted access to a Nuclear facility
- OSHA 10 and TWIC card
- Experience as asbestos handler
- Valid Passport
- Dual citizenship in Canada, the UK, or any country in the European Union
- Prior involvement in safety committees/teams
*** Winders are required to travel domestically/internationally in coach class via air and drive for long periods of time in standard size vehicles. Tech assignments vary working in often difficult, sometimes extreme conditions indoor and outdoor. Winders are required to walk long distances, stand, kneel, sit and climb multiple flights of stairs for various durations throughout their day. Winders perform operations involving upper body strength for dismantling, rewinding and repairing using repetitive movements with hands and wrists, and reassembling equipment using both upper and lower body to lift, carry, climb and crawl at times in confined spaces. This work may also include long duration kneeling and in crouched positions. Winders need to demonstrate full range of motion and dexterity to perform essential job functions. During peak seasons, winders typically work 12+hrs for extended durations either dayshift or nightshift. Winders are required to use hard hats, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and safety toe work boots; some jobs and job tasks require wearing respirators. Winders may be required to wear fire retardant clothing as well as Tyvek suits for certain tasks which at times can be cumbersome, heavy duty and in extreme weather conditions may increase fatigue (heat stress). Cognitive skills required daily include retrieving info from memory, use logic to solve problems and focusing attention when distractions are present.
The pay for this position is $36.72. This position is also eligible for a night shift bonus. This posting is expected to close on 2/15/2025.
