The Field Services Leader will lead the field services team and processes, and report to the Projects and Services Leader, North America Region, of the GE Vernova Solar & Storage Solutions business.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership of solar and storage field service team, including resource safety, quality, planning, allocation, and training, and contingent worker management.
  • Lead team of resources responsible for on-site services and technical direction for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of power electronics including solar inverters and battery energy storage systems.
  • Work scope of team includes electrical, instrumentation, and control system, including cable routing and terminations, loop checks, instrument calibration, safety and alarm system settings, software installation and settings, system start up, and system tests.
  • Lead the team to provide direct service work and technical direction to skilled labor performing work at customer sites and assure that the work is completed in a safe manner, of the highest quality standards, and in full compliance with GE procedures, manuals, and work instructions.
  • Promote a working environment which encourages employee involvement to achieve excellence in all services management metrics.
  • Communicate contract strategies, deliverables, risks, and opportunities as required internally within GE.
  • Meet GE business expectations by managing safety, quality, schedule, cost, margin, cash flow, and risks.
  • Protect GE's reputation and technology in the marketplace.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a technical field OR High School/GED Diploma and 10 years of experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of field services and/or project management experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time

Desired Characteristics

  • Field Service Engineering experience
  • Solar and/or BESS contract management experience
  • GE Solar and Storage Solutions experience
  • Lean continuous improvement experience
  • Fluent in the English language; oral and written, technical and commercial
  • Proven track record of leading multi-cultural teams
  • Strong interpersonal and influence skills
  • Position is based in Houston, TX or Pittsburgh, PA, or Schenectady, NY and up to 30% travel is required (other locations will be considered).
  • This is a flexible work / work from home position, but might transition to an office based position within a year.

The salary range for this position is 114,100.00 - 152,100.00 - 190,100.00 USD Annual USD. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for [a performance bonus of 15%. Available Health and Welfare benefits include, Prescription drug, dental and vision coverage; saving account options (such as a Health Care Flexible Savings Account, Health Reimbursement Account, Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account, and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account); and an employee assistance program.
