Job Description Summary
We are looking for an enterprising and motivated service engineer in power electronics who can manage service contracts, site activities, and support/participate in commissioning of FACTS & HVDC equipment.
As a key position in the OTR Service organization, you will be responsible for technically managing multi-year service contracts, supporting customers located in different countries, and being part of a community of experts able to support global customers on high-tech equipment.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Carry out and direct maintenance and technical support activities on FACTS or HVDC transmission systems.
- Manage the preparations of site activities in coordination with the end customer.
- Perform commissioning activities on FACTS or HVDC transmission systems.
- Technically manage service contracts that run over several years
- Attend and lead customer meetings, identify solutions that meet needs.
- Knowledge and ability to carry out FACTS projects of minor renovations/upgrades.
- Support the ITO team as needed during calls for tenders for the technical part.
Technical knowledge:
- Technical expertise and site experience for switchgear, harmonic filters and instrumentation transformers,
- Technical expertise and site experience for FACTS equipment (with Thyristor and IGBT), knowledge of rotating machines is a plus.
- Technical expertise and site experience for the commissioning of protection relays.
- Technical expertise and site experience for technical diagnostic missions with network recorders and analyzers.
- Knowledge and ability to resolve on-site incidents and analyze logs and analyze curves.
Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to document, report, plan, market and execute programs.
- Notions of project management.
- On-site team management
- Strong customer management skills, especially on-site during incidents.
- Ability to work in a team and share knowledge and experience with fellow team players
- Good EHS skills, especially on-site during incidents or pressure.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or "In-House Engineer".
- Strong engineering background and technical understanding of power electronics
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an equivalent position.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on drive-through or FACTS or HVDC equipment (valves + control + protections)
- Travel availability up to 50-70%
- Language and communication skills (fluent English)
