Job Description Summary
The Facility Engineer in the Greenville Technology Lab (GTL) facilities operations group of the Component Development Test (CDT) Organization will support the development of mechanical systems and equipment by preparing piping and instrumentation diagrams, calculations, management of change packages, engineering specifications and drawings, data sheets, purchasing specifications and requests for material, facility operating procedures, design reviews, and relevant documentation in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, and standards.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop detailed system and hardware design with schematics, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), component specifications, and drawings
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses (compressible and incompressible fluid systems for sizing and selection of system components), to support testing requirements or new system designs
- Provide mechanical design and project engineering of facilities modifications/upgrades in support of test programs in the CDT labs, Test stands and Field Engine testing
- Provide mechanical design and system process review of validation equipment.
- Review, evaluate, and approve supplier analyses & designs working with Sourcing to ensure cost effective design solutions
- Ensure compliance with local & international codes and standards (such as ASME, API, ATEX, NEC, EU Norms, etc.)
- Be responsible for the safety, quality, and maintenance of facility processes.
- Participate in design reviews and system development in coordination with the Chief Engineering Office (CEO) and Controlled Title Holders (CTH)
- Lead the creation of optimized plans including schedule and budget components
- Supervise construction/fabrication of new/upgrade lab facilities and equipment
- Provide technical support and leadership in areas of process operational safety programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with Test Engineers and Gas Power Engineering (GPE) design team members to plan, implement and execute customer tests across CDT facilities.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited university or college
- Minimum 2 years of engineering experience working with power plant, facility or process systems and/or components
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
Desired Characteristics
- 3+ years of experience in working with power plant, facility, or process systems and/or components
- Strong interest/knowledge around process/system engineering of Gas Turbines and Balance of Plant systems
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and make judgments based on practice or previous experience
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong communication and negotiation capabilities, able to interface effectively with global organizations and internal/external customers
- Previous gas turbine systems test experience such as field and test stand validation testing, turbine equipment outages or other heavy duty industrial processes
- Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Management (PSM), Hazard & Operability Study (HAZOP), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Utilize engineering software for design development, including 3D modeling (such as autocad, NX/UG, or similar), fluid flow simulation (flowsimulator, HYSYS, or similar)
The base pay range for this position is 79,400.00 - 119,000.00 USD Annual . The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 5% bonus.
