The Facilities Technician performs essential duties and responsibilities in the Facilities Department in support of the Operations Team.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct preventative maintenance on building infrastructure.
- Support and oversee contractor's performing preventative maintenance on building infrastructure.
- Conduct Environmental, Health and Safety inspections ranging from fire extinguisher inspections to Fire Pump Testing and Inspection.
- Maintain inventories of safety, operations and facilities material and equipment.
- Order and track material required for repairs.
- Support Shipping and Receiving duties when needed.
- Build operational support items such as shadow boards, tool holders, carts, etc. as needed.
- Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, per specifications and plumbing codes.
- Investigate root cause of variety of equipment problems, develops repair procedures and implements repair.
- Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
- Operate material handling equipment such as fork or scissor lifts.
- Comply with LOTO and other safety regulations.

Qualifications / Requirements:
- High School diploma / GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years prior experience in various maintenance disciplines with an emphasis on electrical work
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to work OT as needed and must be available for emergency on call list
Desired Characteristics:
- Intermediate to Advances knowledge of electrical work in compliance with NEC; ability to read and understand electrical and electrical control schematics and install or repair electrical service.
- Ability to repair mechanical equipment engines, pump, etc.
- Maintenance and/or Electrical Certifications.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Understanding of and experience reading technical manuals
- Ability to work with little direction or supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent customer service to co-workers, customers, and vendors
- Ability to keep team informed of work progress, timelines, and issues
- Excellent attendance history
