The Fabricator position at our Erlanger, KY Service Center requires a versatile and adaptable employee capable of working with a variety of metals and equipment. The Fabricator will be expected to set up and operate diverse fabrication equipment, including welders, weld positioners, electric grinders, buggo arm, plasma cutters, torches, air arc, and pneumatic tools. This role demands flexibility and attention to detail to ensure that all operations are handled efficiently and effectively within our service center.
This is an onsite position only available at our Erlanger, KY Service Center. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, with weekend work as optional. Available shift is 6:45AM to 3:15PM.
Our Erlanger, KY Service Center is responsible for manufacturing/assembly and/or repairs of large utility grade Steam Turbines and Generators.
Job Description
Fabricates and assembles structural metal products/parts, such as framework or shells for boiler parts in a timely manner and according to job order and manufacturing/engineering blueprints. The Fabricator will set up and operate fabricating equipment such as welders, weld positioners, electric grinders, buggo arm, plasma cutters, torches, air arc, and pneumatic tools. They will use knowledge of blueprints to layout radiuses and assemble parts according to blueprint specifications. Knowledge and experience utilizing Mig/Tig welding operations and FCAW processes will be necessary in this role.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Setup and operate welding machines, positioners, electric grinders, buggo arm, plasma cutter, torches, air arc, and pneumatic tools
- Ability to interpret manufacturing/engineering blueprints and assemble parts accordingly
- Weld parts with applicable processes on different types of metal (FCAW, Mig, and Tig)
- Ability to heat straighten parts using oxyfuel torch
- Produce quality parts safely and in a time efficient manner
- Maintain 5s and cleanliness standards in work area
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts daily (will be trained)
Qualification/Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 3 years experience with assembling, welding, repairing parts, fabrication tools such as tape measure, square, levels, reading blueprints.
- Must be able to pass welding written test and skills demonstration
The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $35.00 USD per hour. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
