The Mechanical Engineer for Inlet and exhaust Systems will work on design and development of GE Heavy duty Gas Turbine (GT) Inlet system. This role will work on new development, requisition delivery and site issues support for Inlet systems. This role will also support all aero-thermal studies and design as appropriate for all stages of the life cycle of the product starting from ITO to field issue resolution.

  • Deliver on requisition of new unit projects, NPI deliverables & other key activities related to Inlet and Exhaust systems of HDGT
  • Generate design calculations documentation including equipment arrangement drawings and layouts, piping and instrumentation diagrams and datasheets.
  • Use & develop expertise in mechanical design and aero-thermal design and proficiency in using tools like, ANSYS- Structural, CFX etc to develop and validate the designs
  • Develop innovative ways to simplify design & processes & develop a cost effective products & drive positive project margins.
  • Interact and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as CMPD, manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, advanced technologies, gas turbine & systems engineering.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Document design work clearly and meticulously.
  • Understand the GE Gas Turbine design and the various products in the portfolio.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of 2+ Years of experience in mechanical and aero-thermal analysis, system & component design, Expertise in mechanical and aerothermal design.
  • Basic knowledge of Power plant components and its functioning.
  • Gas turbine accessories knowledge.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Ability to work with global teams.

  • Ability to effectively present information to project and functional management and to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to synthesize information from different engineering disciplines.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $79,400 - $99,200 USD Annual.

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This Professional Band position is also eligible for a variable incentive bonus of 5%.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
