Job Description Summary

In this position, you will be involved in design and engineering of EHV/HV(AIS & GIS)/Renewable/HVDC/FACTS substation Primary & Secondary engineering solutions in close coordination with various engineering team for domestic/global projects.
Job Summary: As an intern in the Global engineering team, you will gain hands-on experience in the design and Engineering of electrical substations. This internship is to provide you with practical knowledge and skills in the energy sector. The Electrical Engineer - Intern will work with an engineering team responsible for EHV/HV AIS & GIS Substation Layout engineering, Design Calculations, Vendor Engineering, Interface engineering (with Secondary, Civil & Mechanical), Controls & Relay Protection, SCADA/ Substation Automation System and Telecom equipment for substation on rotational basis for 1 year with each design team within the Engineering Centre of Excellence (CoE) of Grid systems integration business Part of GE Vernova's Grid Solutions, that can deliver and change to meet the demands of the grid and renewable energy market.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

Ø Support to create basic and detail engineering drawings using engineering tools

Ø Perform calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.

Ø Support to prepare technical documentation, such as system drawings, specifications, and operational guidelines.

Ø Ensure that all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations and safety protocols.

Ø Stay updated with the latest technologies and methodologies on the transmission and distribution sector.

Ø Work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.

Ø Provide support to various project teams and participate in team meetings and discussions.

Ø Assist in communicating with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide updates on project progress.

Qualifications/Requirements

Ø Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a equivalent field completing the graduation in 2025.

Ø Should have maintained a minimum GPA of 8 in exams up to date.

Ø Basic understanding of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.

Ø Knowledge of power systems, power electronics, high voltage engineering, PSCAD / PSSE/ Digsilent / EMTP / ETAP, 3D Revit tool, AutoCAD would be an advantage.

Ø Knowledge in International standards like IEEE/IEC.

Ø Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Ø Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ø Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Ø Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Ø Candidate should have right to work in India for these positions. GE does not provide visa or relocation support for these positions.

Ø Willing to listen, learn and support the development.

Ø Able to work to deadlines with good quality.

Ø Proficient in the English language, both written and verbal and proficiency in any other language (French/ Spanish/ German) would be an advantage.
