The ideal candidate will have knowledge of international standards, experience with failure analysis, and proficiency in design tools like DFMEA. A strong understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools would be an advantage. The position will require occasional travel for project-related activities.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for power transformers and shunt reactors, focusing on internal connections, performance optimization, and overall system functionality.
  • Develop and optimize internal electrical connections and layout designs to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of transformers and reactors.
  • Ensure that designs adhere to international standards and regulations such as ISO, IEC, IEEE, and other industry-specific guidelines.
  • Utilize failure analysis techniques, especially Root Cause Analysis (RCA), to investigate transformer and reactor failures, identifying underlying issues and suggesting improvements.
  • Conduct and contribute to Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) to assess potential risks and design weaknesses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Apply FEA tools (experience with tools like ANSYS is a plus) to simulate and evaluate key parameters like electromagnetic fields, thermal performance, and mechanical stress within transformer and reactor designs.
  • Work closely with internal engineering teams, external suppliers, and clients to ensure the integration of electrical designs with other systems and provide technical support as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of design specifications, reports, and compliance with industry standards. Document any changes to designs, materials, and processes.
