Job Description
The Director of Generative AI (GenAI) Strategy & Technology will be responsible for defining and executing the GenAI strategy across GE Vernova. The Director will drive transformative GenAI solutions that advance operational efficiency, foster innovation, and help secure a competitive edge in the energy market. The Director will ensure alignment and integration of important GenAI initiatives with GE Vernova business strategy; the vision is for GenAI to eventually play an important role for every GE Vernova function.
The Director of GenAI Strategy & Technology will:
- Act as the chief architect of GE Vernova's GenAI vision.
- Develop and scale use cases to demonstrate the value of GenAI in a high technology energy company for both productivity and top line growth.
- Lead cross-functional teams, influence strategic decisions, and spearhead the development of cutting-edge GenAI capabilities.
- Play a crucial role in shaping the future of GenAI for GE Vernova by driving innovation and ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of GenAI advancements for the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and champion a forward-looking GenAI strategy aligned with GE Vernova's overarching business objectives.
- Build and lead a central GenAI team responsible for AI architecture, framework, scalability and implementation of GEV wide GenAI solutions, as well as partnering with the business units to implement domain specific GenAI applications.
- Establish and enforce robust GenAI governance frameworks to ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Partner with IT and other departments to enhance GenAI infrastructure and platforms both in the cloud and on-prem.
- Direct research initiatives aimed at pioneering new AI applications pertinent to the energy sector.
- Build and manage collaborations with academic institutions, industry consortia, and leading technology vendors.
- Define and monitor metrics and KPIs to evaluate the success and impact of AI initiatives, ensuring business impact from these initiatives.
- Ensure the successful implementation of AI solutions that transform critical business operations and drive significant business value.
- Engage directly with customers to communicate the strategic role AI will play in their businesses as well as within GE Vernova.
- Collaborate with product teams to embed AI into our products, ensuring that AI advancements translate into innovative offerings for our customers.
- Attract, mentor, and retain a world-class team of AI professionals.
Required Qualifications
- MS Degree in AI, engineering, computer science or related field with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum 10 years of experience leading teams or large projects.
- Demonstrated domain knowledge in the areas of AI, electrical systems, power generation, and energy related technologies.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
- Must be 18 years or older.

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $350,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's geographic location, experience, education, skill set, and work location. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation and equity. Benefits include health and additional benefits.
