Job Description
As the Sales Application Engineer in Cyber Security, you will translate customer cybersecurity requirements into system solutions that can be implemented on existing plant based portfolio of GE equipment. This includes critical infrastructure, such as Power Plants, Wind farms, Mining & Metal, Offshore Oil & Gas and Railway. You will accompany our projects from various industrial sectors in all issues of cyber security from the preparation of the offer to commissioning at the customer's site. The key area of focus is OT (Operational Technology, e.g. HMI's & PLC) or system-related infrastructure, e.g. associated engineering stations, data acquisition systems and remote access solutions.

In this role you will focus on:
- Supporting our projects regarding cybersecurity from the offer phase to implementation at the customer.
- Assessment of requirements in the domain of critical infrastructure, as well as development of measures to meet these requirements.
- Advising on the design/adaptation of the system architecture according to customer specifications.
- Defining the configuration of the various devices (PC, switch, firewall, but also PLC and monitoring stations) for the various projects.
- Coordinating of and advising on site acceptance test activities.
- Planning, conducting, and participating in cybersecurity meetings with customers and suppliers.
- Coordinating with colleagues in the UK, France, Germany, USA and India with regards to general procedures and guidelines for cybersecurity in industrial facilities.
- 20% of work time may consist of domestic and occasional international travel for technical meetings, site visits and customer visits; both independently and as a member of a wider team.
We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:
- A relevant degree in Software Engineering, Cyber Security or Industrial Control Systems (or equivalent), or significant relevant experience gained in a professional engineering environment.
- Previous experience of designing and integrating control & automation project solutions.
- Sound knowledge of Industrial communication protocols e.g. Modbus (RTU/TCP IP), OPC-UA, Profibus, Profinet etc.
- Strong understanding of industrial networking.
- Very good knowledge of cybersecurity standards and industrial OT, particularly IEC 62443.
- Ability to configure a hardened MS Windows environment, computer networks and PLC environments.
- Excellent communication skills and enjoying contact with customers.
- Organizational skills and leadership qualities.
- High level of initiative and motivation for self-initiated further training.
