As a Customer Service Specialist for Rotating Machines (RMR) you will be responsible for GE Vernova's customer connect processes, campaigns & organisation of Rotating Machine annual inspections. You will be required to prepare quotations for field service, spare parts, repairs and replacements for motors and generators. You will follow an individual work plan and be required to meet day-to-day short-term objectives. An important characteristic is the ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. The role will play an important part in helping drive revenue and growth for RMR Service.

Job Description

In this early-career role, you will be key in supporting and growing sales by positioning our services offer and identifying the best commercial solutions to ensure we are competitive and proceeding without risk. You will work in close cooperation with a variety of teams including engineering, production planning, sourcing, external sales and commercial proposal staff and be a key member of the RMR Services Team reporting into the Services Sales Director for Rotating Machines Services, Parts & Repairs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Be the lead resource for customer re-connect, Campaigns, annual inspection scheduling.
  • Support the team for incoming enquiries and understand the customers need from the request for quotation (RFQ).
  • Comfortable with direct customer contact through phone-calls & TEAMS meetings
  • Understand fully the customer's request and identify any issues for T&C's to reduce risk.
  • Liaise with all internal staff to ensure our bid is accurate and compliant.
  • Using all available resources, prepare and present customer quotations to a high standard ensuring responses meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) in line with the customer's request for quotation (RFQ).
  • Full management of tenders and support for rotating machine field service, parts, repairs, and replacements providing leads and customer information to the sales team as well as managing suppliers.
  • Being a team player is essential to success in the role as you will be interfacing with multiple teams on a matrix basis.
  • Self-motivated and a desire to win is a key characteristic for this role.
  • Maintain supplier and manufacturer relationships to ensure parts meet the relevant quality standards.
  • Maintain long-term customer relationships, providing advice on maintenance and inventory plans as well as the use of parts as required.
  • Provide and maintain accurate data and records to understand customer and market trends.

Essential Qualifications & Background

  • Educated to A-level or above or equivalent in work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong time-management and organisation skills.
  • Customer focused with a "Say Do" attitude.
  • Experience in Sales or within Engineering field would be preferred.
  • Previous customer facing role preferred.
  • Use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools would be desirable.
