Job Description Summary

The Construction Manager shall be responsible for monitoring of all sites-based construction activities of various GSI projects under execution as per GE Quality, Construction & EHS Process, and guidelines, provide critical construction cost related and other support to the bid management team for GSI tenders in the region and will be fully responsible for coordination with customer representatives to ensure client compliance & satisfaction as per the contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing, Monitoring, recording, and reporting of the Health, Safety and Environmental performance of the project site as per GE EHS standards in collaboration with Site Construction Staff
  • Lead and manage the sites teams to ensure performance standards, project objectives, policies and procedures are met.
  • Ensure Construction Operating Rhythm is deployed on all sites
  • Assist Site Construction staff in implementing of GE Quality, Construction & EHS Process, and guidelines.
  • Monitoring, recording, and reporting of the contractor work progress along with Site construction teams.
  • Ensure that construction methods conform to contractual requirements, international standards, and good industry practice.
  • Publish weekly progress reports and provide key inputs into Project monthly reports.
  • Work with the site teams to ensure Construction Quantity Tracking is implemented and followed at all work sites
  • Carry out Genba & Quality Audits when visiting sites in consultation with EHS & Quality team
  • Monitor key construction events, through sample inspection of these activities to check that the contractors are complying with the contract requirements and the contractors' project Quality Plan
  • Ensure proper Subcontractor management is implemented at work sites as per GE standards & norms
  • Ensure local statutory requirements are followed & implemented at all work sites as per the legal requirement of the countries & as per contract
  • Responsible for managing the risks and opportunities related to Construction activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree/Collage in electrical or Civil engineering from an accredited University/College
  • Able and willing to travel 80% i and comply with GE travel guidelines.
  • 10 years experience in (EPC) Large capital High Voltage GIS, SVC and HVDC projects.

Desired:

  • Fluent in French
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Large complex turnkey projects

The salary range for this position is 114,100.00 - 152,100.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. 114,100.00 - 152,100.00 - 190,100.00 USD Annual
