Job Description Summary
As a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Coating Engineer, you will be a key member of the Advanced Manufacturing Team (HGP Post Cast). The Advanced Manufacturing Coating Engineer will be responsible for implementing manufacturing processes for new product introduction on multiple programs. Tracking costs, timing, coordinating with key Manufacturing, Sourcing, Design Engineering, Materials Planning, Quality and other key personnel to implement the new design from a coating perspective. Coatings could involve any thermal spray process for metallic or ceramic materials, aluminide and a high degree of equipment and programming understanding.

- As a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Coating Engineer, you will develop and deliver the next generation of Gas Power Systems and Power Services Products and maximize the value of each product across the full product lifecycle.
- Serve as a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Coating Engineer in a highly cross-functional environment with engineering (Design, Materials, etc), manufacturing, sourcing, product management and suppliers to optimize manufacturability and component cost pertaining to coating operations.
- Serve as a technical process owner for complex problems across a diverse supply chain partnering with stakeholders to solve business critical issues
- Own component producibility from conceptual design through stable production (Industrialization)
- Manufacturing technical knowledge for NPI process development and qualification across the coating router of the part at both external suppliers and internal factories
- NPI fulfillment - on time delivery with quality
- Drive the part cost considering design, sourcing, and manufacturing
- Awareness of new technology and advanced manufacturing techniques that relate to your components
- Responsible for management of component investment, expense and timing of qualification or implementation of the coating process.
- Understand and communicate design change risks and impacts prior to implementation
- Perform related duties as necessary
- Understand and communicate/utilize best practices from all sites across GE Vernova with respect to coating equipment, maintenance, utilization, programming and application methods.
- Capable of understanding and implementing the programs from the development to the production environment. Able to make updates based on trials whether in development or production as part of a continuous improvement initiative (Industrialization).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of coating application process understanding
- Strong Technical understanding of the equipment and programming involved in the application of many coating processes
- Capable of implementing new programs, making updates to the process, running the qualification of a Hot Gas Path component and documenting accordingly while providing feedback to the required teams involved in the project.
Desired Characteristics
- Proficient knowledge of CAD systems (IE: UG or NX)
- Cross functional experience - able to motivate team effectively, facilitate collaboration, and influence a solutions oriented culture
- Demonstrated ability to manufacture or engineer out cost/cycle and improve product quality/performance
- Demonstrated ability to take vague problem, identify action plan, and partner with stakeholders to achieve goals
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion under tight deadlines
- Capable of leading and communicating clearly with Management and customer on progress, issues for a given project
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Technical knowledge and experience in gas turbines coating processes
- Strong project management skills and detail-orientation
- Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training
- Proficient in Microsoft products
The base pay range for this position is $103K - $137K USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 2/28/2025, or thereafter.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
