What the internship will include:
This role will be responsible for contributing to the Climate Transition Plan and company-wide carbon forecast, and will work across teams in the business to gain an understanding of impacting factors. This role will also support Businesses to help them understand how their projects contribute to the footprint, so they can make informed decisions in their carbon reduction portfolio.

Job Description

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to development of the GE Vernova carbon forecast model and Climate Transition Plan with cross-functional partners
  • Support the corporate team in collecting and analyzing carbon reduction projects from GE Vernova Business UNits
  • Coordinate with GE Vernova Business Units to gather underlying modeling assumptions that will inform the carbon forecast and Climate Transition Plan
  • Develop a process to capture updates to assumptions for model improvement
  • Provide documentation on the forecast, including assumption definition and weighting, and future recommendations for model improvement
  • Develop an analysis on how different business practices contribute to the GE Vernova carbon footprint

What You'll Bring (Basic Qualifications):

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding)
  • Working towards a Masters degree in a technical field of study in engineering focusing on carbon modeling/forcaset skillset.
  • Enrolled in a full time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Desired candidate would be a current EDF Climate Corps Fellow
  • Experience using building carbon forecast models, using numerous assumptions for growth and business realities
  • Familiarity with GHG Protocol and estimating GHG emissions
  • Familiarity with different carbon reduction modes in buildings and transportation
  • Able to work independently, while building effective relationships with business and functional partners
  • Strong project management, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Detailed-oriented and highly skilled at managing projects and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Team player who works effectively with others to achieve identified business outcomes
  • Skill in data visualization tools and other standard office tools, including but not limited to Tableau, Spotfire, Microsoft Excel and Power point

The pay for this position ranges from $35.00/hr based on years of undergrate/graduate field of study completed

This position is also eligible for:

  • Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
  • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern's permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
  • Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services
  • GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
