Job Description Summary

As a member of the site leadership team, you will be an active contributor to the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) goals for the business unit. This role will require you to lead the Generator cell within the site. The Cell Leader's job activities include but not limited to scheduling, cost estimating, material management, and directing operations in a shop structure.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of front-line Generator repair employees. Managing both hourly and salary employee populations.
  • Owns SQDC for the Generator Cell
  • Manages project schedules and costs.
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related discipline from an accredited university or college and 5+ years of Generator maintenance experience; or a High School diploma / GED with 9+ years of relevant experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • 3+ years experience in a People Leading role
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
  • Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, and standard cost systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to influence others and lead large teams
  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability
  • Ability to work independently
