With minimal supervision, performs assembly and test of wind turbine components.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Assemble and test electromechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies for wind turbine components including installation, adhesive bonding, drilling, tapping, torquing, lubricating and wiring
- Work from engineering drawings, work instructions, and wiring diagrams
- Efficiently use calibrated equipment and machinery as part of assembly processes
- Utilize various hand tools and other standard tools to complete work tasks
- Utilize the proper chemicals; must be able to understand safety data and shelf-life information
- Accurately inspect the condition of incoming hardware
- Follow EHS compliance for wind turbine assembly and test
- Perform complete and accurate quality documentation
- Assist in implementation of wind turbine documentation and process improvements
- Initiate and drive process improvements
- Operate forklift and crane
- Maintain manual or computerized records
- Must Adhere to and follow all safety procedures, i.e. lock-out/tag-out, report safety concerns, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow similar safety practices

Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED)
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass background and drug screens
- Willing and able to work any shift and overtime including weekends
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 33lbs. and push and pull at least 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time up to 95% of the shift with or without reasonable accommodation
Desired Characteristics:
- Manufacturing/mechanical experience using electrical and pneumatic air hand tools
- Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical theories
- Complete and maintain Characteristic Verification Plan (CVP) Certification
- Proven experience and willingness to be self-directed and identify improvement processes
- Ability and willingness to work effectively with others in a team setting
- Follow and promote safe work practices
- Communicate effectively with others
