Job Description Summary

As a Quality technical leader, you will be responsible to ensure quality within Aero mechanical team processes and design execution. You will provide leadership and technical direction for the Aero Mechanical Development Engineering team in the execution of all quality related issues. You will contribute to the design and improvement of Aero products, solutions and systems, leading technical improvement of existing products and components.
In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, impacting quality, efficiency and effectiveness of Mechanical team, by providing leadership and accountability of functional and business objectives that require integration across the GE Vernova organization. You will serve as a consulting resource on complex issues of mechanical components and system integration of aeroderivative packages.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create strategies to ensure the quality of our products.
  • Resolve quality related endeavors across the Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Package Product Lines.
  • Lead the execution of Mechanical design, analysis, and evaluation of Quality projects.
  • Utilize Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) prioritization in all standard work execution.
  • Develop specialized knowledge in the Mechanical discipline.
  • Serves as best practice/quality resource.
  • Provide product and fleet quality leadership to reduce COQ exposure, improve quality processes, and drive common fix solutions for Aero product lines.
  • Engage with various departments to create synergy in an atmosphere of continuous improvement and a culture of exceptional quality.
  • Engaged to improve Quality in processes and design.
  • Strong focus on quality, execution, and process rigor.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of Design Practices, Lessons Learned and process on how Mechanical area integrates with others.
  • Develop design schedule for projects/programs with milestones and work task assignments in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient management of multiple programs and resources at the same time.
  • Capable of negotiating budget, manage timelines and guide cross functional teams to deliver with high quality and OTD.
  • Effectively monitor and provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to Engineering Managers and Product Line Leaders
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects/programs and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Coach and mentor others in the analysis, design, and system integration related to Mechanical components.
  • Drive extended team of GE and contract engineers to ensure that all projects/programs deliverables are completed successfully with quality, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Proficient design of mechanical layouts, including completing 3D Models.
  • Familiar with developing/adapting mechanical designs to ensure compliance with regional standards and IBC codes.
  • Develop practical and innovative ways of identifying and meeting goals.
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
  • Has significant input into priorities.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Engineering Technology from an accredited college and university
  • This role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Component.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Travel availability
  • Legal right to work in the hiring location.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Significant mechanical or process engineering experience in the power industry
  • Previous experience designing or installing GE Aero Gas Power products
  • Exhibits the GE Vernova Leadership Behaviors.
  • Ability to form productive relationships quickly and create the spheres of influence required for transformational changes
  • Excellent communication skills and intercultural awareness
  • Demonstrated passion for Quality, LEAN, implementing continuous improvement to deliver for our customers and reducing variation though adoption of standard work

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $51,133.33 - 63,472.22 - 76,700.00 USD

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.

This position is also eligible for a variable incentive bonus of 20%
