Job Description Summary

The Aero PDE NPI team defines, plans, and executes program of varying complexity for numerous different Aero applications. • Aero CAD models and drawings creation using company sponsored CAD systems (NX, E3D). • Utilize applicable checking and productivity tools. • Utilize applicable PLM system (Enovia) to manage and issue product definition data. • Effectively communicate progress, status, risk, needed inputs and target release dates to stakeholders. • Understand input from the different engineering disciplines, monitor progress and quality, and ensure schedule requirements are met. • Effectively communicate and provide recommendations to internal and external GE customers through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical PDE data. • Provide design support to cross-functional teams to improve or resolve design, performance, manufacturing, supplier, or field issues. • Assure that proper documentation of technical data, generated to substantiate the assigned components, assembly processes, and/or systems is consistent with design policies and procedures.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The Aero PDE NPI team defines, plans, and executes program of varying complexity for numerous different Aero applications
  • Create Aero CAD models and drawings creation using company sponsored CAD systems (NX, E3D).
  • Deliver models and drawings according to Aero Design Practices, Quality procedures and customer requirements.
  • Support applicable checking and productivity tools. Provide feedback to peers to improve process
  • Demonstrate PLM system (Enovia) knowledge to manage and issue product definition data.
  • Work closely with our experienced team in model-based product definition process changes and advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Ensure design integrity and no high-risk escaping defects and drive improvements in FTY (error reduction).
  • Ensure that interface characteristics between components are established and agreed upon by owners of mating parts.
  • Check, validate, and issue models and drawings.
  • Effectively communicate progress, status, risk, needed inputs and target release dates to stakeholders.
  • Understand input from the different engineering disciplines, monitor progress and quality, and ensure schedule requirements are met.
  • Effectively communicate and provide recommendations to internal and external GE customers through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical PDE data.
  • Provide design support to cross-functional teams to improve or resolve design, performance, manufacturing, supplier, or field issues.
  • Assure that proper documentation of technical data, generated to substantiate the assigned components, assembly processes, and/or systems is consistent with design policies and procedures.
  • Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to improve current business products and processes. Document the success of Lean or Six Sigma projects.
  • Continually learn and apply the latest techniques relative to CAD software, Data Management Systems (DMS) and MBE (Model Based Enterprise).
  • Contribution to Engineering initiatives to improve productivity and quality.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Legal right to work in México. We will not sponsor individuals for legal permits or visas.
  • Candidate must have proof of tax situation (Constancia de Situación Fiscal) in order to be considered for employment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of gas turbine technology experience
  • Cognizant of state-of-the-art CAD software and advanced manufacturing technology including model-based design.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5, ISO 1101 or applicable) relevant to the function.
  • Expertise in enterprise Computer Aided Design (CAD) managed by a PLM/PDM system

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous working experience with GE Aeroderivative Gas Turbine engine, package or controls systems
  • Knowledge of Product Definition Standard Procedures (PDP/PMOPs & GTPDs), Bill of Materials, GD&T Definition, Self-Checking, Gage R&R, Descriptive Geometry, Model Validation, Tolerance Stack-up, Checking Knowledge, and PDE tools.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to assertively communicate with Senior Leadership.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership experience.
  • Focus on ownership, accountability and sense of urgency
  • Experience driving Drawing à Model Based Product Definition initiatives
  • CAD expertise with NX(Unigraphics), E3D with Piping /electrical modules
