We are seeking a Strategy Analyst to join the team! The Strategy Analyst supports the office of strategy management in the development, execution, and communication of a portfolio of strategic change. This key contributor works with executives, senior leaders, functional leaders, and subject matter experts across GeoBlue to forward our ambition across all pillars - Growth, Customer Experience, and People.
Day-to-day, this role assists with the coordination of a strategic portfolio, owns, and undertakes strategic projects (opportunity research, business case development, market analysis, competitive analysis), and contributes to senior company management deliverables.

- Work under the direction of the Strategy leader and other leaders as required to develop strategic projects and studies.
- Eg reviews of a market segment, product line or opportunity including market sizing, market dynamics - trends and changes, competitor identification and evaluation, product analysis, sales performance, win/loss reasons, product economics (cost drivers, margins, tenure, acquisition costs etc.), operating model, operational performance, NPS. and customer satisfaction, participation models (regulatory, insurance etc.).
- Conduct in-depth financial and operational analysis, identify key insights, and draw conclusions with support from relevant SMEs.
- Project work potentially includes:
- Sources studies of available resources and data (desktop research).
- Commission market research; develop questions and concepts.
- Determine viable pathways to implement new initiatives and delivery roadmaps from MVP to scaled propositions.
- Work closely with key SMEs at all levels to gather informed insights and offer informed opinions on key hypotheses, insights, or recommendations.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Product Development, PMO, and Transformation teams to contribute to the pipeline of commercial development.
- Influence project execution to build strategic synergies between initiatives.
- Build strong connections with Sales, Marketing, and Client Management teams to gather market insights, including establishing a retailer cadence for gathering feedback and an open channel for ad hoc insights.
- Contribute to team building as needed (i.e., coordinating trainings, organizing events, helping with recruiting).
- Source, compile, and track market insights through public data, company sources, and network.
- Record and share insights (contribute the insights blog),
- Make connections over time to identify trends and make recommendations for product development (new, change, retire etc.).
- Strategy Communication: Contribute to presentations including:
- Management decks for Exco meetings.
- Board and stakeholder materials.
- Other presentation development, e.g., SLT, Town Hall, and intra-team presentations.
- Present outcomes of work to stakeholders.
- Create clear executive level presentations to communicate analysis outputs and strategy updates that contribute to and align with broader storyline flows (e.g., overall strategy, prior presentations).
- Strategic Portfolio Management / Ambition
- Collaborate with Finance on ambition development and refinement (e.g., assists with financial modelling, identification, and valuation of opportunities etc.).
- Maintain and track a roster / portfolio of strategy projects aligned to the Strategy Committee of the Board cycle.
- Manage and track key data assets
- Maintain market sizing data for GeoBlue markets; both participating and adjacent (i.e., opportunities), including insight from Sales teams and colleagues.
- Understand and map internal data sources.
- Compile and maintain a catalogue of data sources for use in strategic work, including "live" internal (operational), 3rd party, and one-off studies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills / Functions:
- Ability to compile and synthesize datasets and identify and distill major themes and messages.
- Effective PowerPoint - both slide documents and presentations (able to differentiate between different styles of document, and what is appropriate when, and develop both).
- Experience business writing: business cases articulation; effective structure.
- Business case development - authoring, financial modeling, grounding in data, direct and indirect value generation.
- Market research: survey authoring and analysis. Desk top research and compilation of third-party sources.
- Excel mastery - pivot tables, data clean up, combining, and grouping. Sourcing, formatting, handling refreshes of recurring data sets.
- Root cause analysis.
- Architectural mindset able to identify and recommend actions that enable the achievement of multiple goals.
- Experience of PMOs and portfolio management including approaches to prioritization.
- Experience of customer insight programs and ideally NPS including outer loop process to address structural drivers of negative customer experience, and the identification and delivery of positive experiences.
- Company financials: familiarity with company financial documents, particular operating P&Ls.
- Experience working in a complex technology environment with multiple integrated applications and orchestrations extending to partners.
- Grasp of health insurance marketplace dynamics - payors, providers, operating costs, competitors, insurance structures (can anticipate the components of a health insurers P&L, operating capabilities, and market dynamics).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5+ years of job-related experience, ideally including mergers and acquisitions exposure.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Analytically oriented.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Advanced Excel/spreadsheet skills.
- Articulate in PowerPoint, including presentation of data.
- Employee is required to have at minimum an internet speed of 75 Mbps (standard high-speed internet access).
Working Conditions:
- Flexibility to work in an office and/or at-home, remote office environment.
- Schedule flexibility is occasionally necessary in this position. Individual may be required to attend key business/departmental meetings and/or perform certain business critical job functions outside of normal working hours.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to communicate internally and externally through receiving and responding to auditory and visual methods.
Competitive base pay starting at $76,518 per year.
Compensation is based on prior/relevant experience and skill level in a similar role.
