SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)

We are looking for a SQL Server Database Administrator who is passionate about database management and have a proven track record of maintaining high-performance SQL Server environments. The SQL Server Database Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance tuning of SQL Server databases, ensuring their reliability, security, and availability. Additionally, this position will work closely with the Analytics team to provide best-in-class Enterprise Data Warehouse functionality and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server database software and related tools.
  • Design, develop, and implement database solutions to support business needs and enterprise scale data warehousing capabilities and reporting systems.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures and access controls.
  • Backup and restore databases, as well as perform data migrations as needed.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize database usage.
  • Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in database administration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in database design, SQL scripting, and query optimization.
  • Will work with database Architect to craft and enforce the coding standards of the organization.
  • Will be a senior contributor to the team, providing mentorship to junior SQL developers for code reviews, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SQL Server Management Studio, TSQL, Microsoft Server Administration, some C#, Azure DevOps, Jira, and Redgate Software Tool.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug ETL and ELT data importation processes.
  • Expert level skills with database backup and recovery procedures.
  • Expert level T-SQL coding skills.
  • Experience with Oracle databases and PL/SQL coding skills.
  • Experience with Agile processes and the SDLC process.
  • Ability to design and create from scratch, new processes and programs for data consumption and usage.
  • Ability to create and manage SSAS cubes.
  • Ability to debug and program SSIS packages.
  • Responsible for managing SQL Server security via Windows Active Directory groups and ability to administer role-based permissions.
  • Responsible for pushing code deliverables via change management process and able to manage the CI/CD processes for the cloud environment.
  • Responsible for server patching and regular server maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based tools/software/concepts (Snowflake, DBT, and Rivery experience).
  • Employee is required to have at minimum an internet speed of 75 Mbps (standard high-speed internet access).

Working Conditions:

  • Flexibility to work in an office and/or at-home, remote office environment.
  • Schedule flexibility is occasionally necessary in this position. Individual may be required to attend key business/departmental meetings and/or perform certain business critical job functions outside of normal working hours.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to communicate internally and externally through receiving and responding to auditory and visual methods.

Competitive Base salary for this role is 106,529/Yearly
