GeoBlue is looking to add a Specialist to our Compliance team! The primary responsibilities of this position are: (1) To ensure that our internal and external insurance agents, agencies and brokers are properly licensed, appointed by our insurance carriers and have the proper documentation including contractual agreements, when selling our products; (2) Assisting the Sales and Client Management teams with collecting the proper documents from partner agents/agencies/brokers; (3) Using external web applications, screening individual clients and group policyholders against various sanctions lists to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering and sanctions regulations; (4) under the direction of the Senior Compliance Specialist, assist the team with various other department functions, including maintaining our producer and third-party administrator licenses on a national scale and the filing of our company's annual reports through our vendor partners.

Responsibilities:

• Daily review and approval of opportunities in the Salesforce queue ensuring that the external agents and brokers and internal agents are properly licensed, appointed and proper agency agreements are in place before the sale is finalized.

• Daily screening against sanctions list (including Office of Financial Control (OFAC) Reports) to ensure compliance.

• Weekly review of "Know your Client" information to ensure compliance.

• Weekly review of the First Sales Report for agents on the Affiliate Site, including Trip Protector Plan to ensure active license in residence state and state of sale.

• Monthly review of all expiration dates of licenses for agents and agencies (internal and external).

• Monthly review of invoices from vendors to ensure accuracy.

• Create and maintain a system by which internal sales agents are properly licensed in the state in which they sell.

• Create and maintain a system by which internal and external sales agents are appointed to the insurance company.

• Communicate with external sales agents to obtain the necessary forms and licenses for appointment or licensing purposes.

• Communicate and provide evidence of licenses and completed paperwork to insurance carrier partners for appointments.

• Development of documented processes (Desk Procedures).

• Assist in various compliance functions, including but not limited to the following:

- Obtain and maintain producer and third-party administrator (TPA) licenses for the company.

- Coordinate with outside vendor to ensure annual filings with the Secretary of State.

- Implement procedures to ensure that external sales agents are licensed.

- Coordination and collection of corporate authorization, financial and organizational documents to Secretary of State offices and the Department of Revenue offices.

- Coordination and collection of information required for TPA licenses.

- Collection and storage of all broker documentation.

- General support for Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Sales and Underwriting in matters relating to federal or state legislation or general compliance issues.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of experience; or 4-5 years of related experience.

• Preferred knowledge of insurance industry regulations and compliance.

• Proficient written and verbal communications skills.

• Must have the ability to problem solve.

• Detail oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

• Team oriented - must have the ability to work cohesively with others.

• Must possess high initiative and the ability to work with minimal direction.

• Computer skills, including but not limited to, Windows office applications and Internet research.

• Employee is required to have at minimum an internet speed of 75 Mbps (standard high-speed internet access).

Working Conditions:

• Flexibility to work in an office and/or at-home, remote office environment.

• Overtime and/or schedule flexibility are occasionally necessary in this position. Individual may be required to attend key business/departmental meetings and/or perform certain business critical job functions outside of normal working hours.

• Physical Demands: Must be able to communicate internally and externally through receiving and responding to auditory and visual methods.

Competitive base pay starting at $25.04/hr. Compensation is based on prior/relevant experience and skill level in a similar role.
