Description

Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Detroit Renaissance Center, Detroit MI three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role

The Global Payroll and Timekeeping Analyst plays a critical role in GM's operations and standardization for global solutions. The role will be engaged in multiple aspects of the business to understand, analyze (detail-oriented) and provide valuable insight on operational gaps, opportunities and main problems impacting employee's pay by documenting business requirements. The ideal candidate will manage and maintain accurate timekeeping records, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

This role will also collaborate with the team to lead change management activities related to the implementation of the new timekeeping system GM's moving forward globally UKG Pro.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze timekeeping data to identify discrepancies or trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Prepare and generate reports on timekeeping metrics for management review.
  • Lead collaboration sessions with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives.
  • Document requirements into user stories for IT to develop.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, business process owners, and subject matter experts.
  • Lead change management related activities that enable the market to successfully adopt the benefits of the upgrade (adoption of best practices).
  • Research, benchmark and identify best practices and participate in continuous education to guide the business in the identification of 'differentiator' or 'competitive advantage' processes.
  • Proactively identify project issues and recommend viable solutions.

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 2+ years of experience with timekeeping in a labor relations, manufacturing, operations setting or related
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Experience developing business process models, business requirements/user stories (functional and non-functional) and product backlogs
  • Familiar with timekeeping systems: UKG Pro Workforce Management (WFM), Kronos Workforce Central, Dimensions, SAP or related
  • Interpersonal skills, analytical mindset, and technical product knowledge are critical to success.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working in industries with complex timekeeping needs (e.g., manufacturing, healthcare).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • 5% travel

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience with Power Bi, Tableau, or data analytics tools.
