Staff Product Manager, Customer Privacy and Consent
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical/Innovation Center in Mountain View (CA) or Warren (MI) three times per week, at minimum. This position can be located at either of these 2 locations.

The Role
As Staff Product Manager for Customer Privacy and Consent, you will be responsible for defining a scalable customer privacy and consent effort for vehicle software and data across mobile, web and in-vehicle. You will oversee all instances where we provide disclosures and request consent from customers, ensuring transparency and choice.

The Customer Privacy and Consent team plays a critical role in maintaining trust and protecting information. Respecting customer privacy rights and obtaining their consent for the collection and use of data is critical to establishing trust and essential for businesses to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
What You'll Do
- Own the long-term product vision, setting privacy and consent strategic direction across multiple product teams and surfaces, balancing user privacy, business objectives, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure a transparent and delightful user experience that helps customers make informed choices about their data across vehicles, mobile apps, and web.
- Lead a cross-functional team of stakeholders encompassing Legal, Design, Engineering, Program, and Product Managers to create an intuitive customer experience that meets customer and business needs
- Actively monitor emerging trends, incorporate data, research, and market analysis to inform, define, prioritize, and drive execution of product roadmap that spans data collection, consent collection and experiences, and privacy controls.
- Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring digital products meet customer privacy and consent needs and expectations, even when you don't directly own the product.
- Help drive a data-driven culture and establish and monitor key metrics to measure the effectiveness of privacy and consent initiatives.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 5+ years working on technology-powered digital products as a product manager.
- 3+ years of experience managing products focused on user trust, privacy, and transparency.
- Proven ability to balance tradeoffs between consumer needs and expectations, legal and regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.
- Familiarity with privacy laws and regulations and their implications for consumer data collection and consent.
- Ability to identify key data and metrics required to make decisions and implications of their movement
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to all stakeholders
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Relevant educational background (MBA, etc.)
- Experience leading digital products across a variety of platforms (mobile, web, etc.)
- 8+ years of digital/software product management experience
Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.
- The salary range for this role is $168,000 to $258,800. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
