The Role

Our responsibilities encompass both strategic analytics planning and project-driven problem-solving, concentrating on pivotal business domains.

This role applies leading analytic practices and methods, designs and leads iterative development and learning cycles, and ultimately produces new and creative analytic solutions that become part of the operating fabric of the global enterprise.

  • Working with cross-functional teams to discover and develop actionable, high-impact data analytics needs and opportunities in a variety of core business areas.
  • Developing industry leading solutions including:
    • Assessing existing analytic models and architectures, reviewing for gaps against business needs and industry best practices.
    • Identifying detailed data needs, sources, and structure to support solution development.
    • Determining the analytic approaches to be used and defining and applying the appropriate methodologies.
    • Employing Proof-of-Concepts for exploratory and targeted data analyses, leading to breakthrough solutions.
    • Ensuring integrity of the analytical solutions in terms of the underlying statistical and economic models and assumptions.
    • Design, development and implementation of project-specific models
    • Productionize analytical models.
    • Monitor and sustain model effectiveness.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Business Acumen :

  • Ability to understand complex business processes, and how business value is created. Based on that knowledge, propose analytic strategies and solutions that challenge and expand the thinking of the working team.
  • Ability to create structured problem statements and conceptualize potential solutions from rough client specifications and information.
  • Ability to communicate analyses, status, results, and recommendations to business management and executives in business terms.

Technical expertise:

  • Expert knowledge and experience in one or more of these areas:

Numerical optimization, econometric modeling and forecasting, machine learning, Bayesian statistics, game theory, agent-based simulation, text analytics, and computer vision / pattern recognition

  • Experience with analyzing source system data and data flows and working with structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience with manipulating high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources to highlight patterns, anomalies, relationships, and trends.
  • Expert knowledge, 10 years of experience in two or more of the following technology areas:
    • Analytic tools and languages for statistical and machine learning models such as Python (Sci-Kit Learn), Spark, R
    • Deep Learning frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow
    • Cloud based data science platform such as Databricks and Azure
    • Data management and processing
    • Data visualization with tools such as Power BI, Tableau
    • Model deployment and analytics pipeline development

Additional Qualifications:

  • 10+ Years Professional Experience in the area.
  • Flexible analytic approach that allows for producing results at varying levels of precision.
  • Strong listening and communications skills, with ability to clearly and concisely explain complex problems and technologies to non-expert and executive audiences.
  • Evidence of being able to transfer solutions to business stakeholders for successful adoption and value realization.
  • Highly collaborative work style, with ability to provide leadership to a cross-functional team. Working well under uncertainties.
  • Commitment to constant learning to expand skills and keep pace with industry advances.

Education

  • PhD preferred; Master's degree or equivalent 10+ year's work experience in related technical or quantitative fields required (*see above technical areas). Employment experience in a Fortune 100 company a plus.

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Austin, TX or Warren, MI, three times per week, at minimum.

A company vehicle will be provided for this role with successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.

The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

  • The salary range for this role is $116,100 - $181,600 . The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
