Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times per week at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role: We seek an aspiring engineer to join our aftersales engineering service team. The level of responsibility for the position will be matched with the experience of the team member hired. The person in this role will be responsible for representing Service Engineering during the vehicle development process and partnering with product engineering teams to achieve world class serviceability.

What You'll Do: CCA's Global Aftersales Engineering organization has responsibility for the service result readiness of every GM vehicle globally. These include: service part release, service information, labor time guide, service part catalogue, diagnostic software, service programming, pre-delivery inspection forms, customer service information and special tools. Responsible for efficiently and effectively facilitating the execution of Aftersales Engineering work within their specific function or commodity.

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Skills)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or other related experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a job related field
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of serviceability and/or component designs and strives to become a specialized expert
  • Knowledge of vehicle development process, change management, immersive/virtual engineering systems and proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Works efficiently and effectively cross functionally with individuals and teams to solve a problem or complete a project
  • Actively participates in various engineering teams and forums raising concerns and offering feasible solutions
  • Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
  • Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GM's core behaviors

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Automotive service parts experience at the wholesale or retail level
  • Manufacturing, vehicle engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of automotive service practices and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle systems
  • Demonstrated GM dealership or field experience
  • Hands on experience in automotive diagnosis and repair
  • High level of oral and written communication skills

This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate
