Senior Product Manager - eCommerce / Shopify
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Global Technical Center in Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
General Motors' Digital Platforms and Data team plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and value across two critical domains: Digital Sales and Vehicle Data Telemetry. We own end-to-end responsibility for Digital Sales, encompassing both front-end customer experiences and the back-end systems that power them, including product catalogs, subscription management, customer qualifications, and billing.
Additionally, we lead efforts in Vehicle Data Telemetry, managing the seamless extraction of data from vehicles and transforming it into actionable Data Products that unlock new opportunities for our customers and business. By combining deep expertise in platform product management, cutting-edge technology, and a customer-centric approach, our team delivers scalable, data-driven solutions that enhance user experiences and fuel business growth.

The Role
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced individual to join GM as a Senior Product Manager , with a strong focus on stakeholder alignment and strategic vision within complex global environments. This role requires a keen ability to foster relationships, navigate organizational dynamics, and lead teams in revitalizing outdated eCommerce shopping platforms to align with modern technology and customer needs.
We are looking for someone who is passionate and knowledgeable with Shopify, Shopify Plus, and is committed to delivering high-quality digital shopping experiences that are both customer-centric and strategically viable for our business.
What You'll Do
- Develop, manage, and drive product initiatives across the organization.
- Contribute to the definition of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on customer needs and market trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure product goals and priorities alignment.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market opportunities and potential threats.
- Develop and manage product requirements, including user stories, use cases, and functional specifications.
- Create and maintain product backlogs and prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to develop intuitive and compelling user interfaces.
- Define and track key metrics using OKRs and KPIs to measure product success and inform future decisions.
- Communicate product updates, progress, and plans to stakeholders across the organization, including executives, customers, and partners.
- Manage product launches, including developing go-to-market strategies and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Conduct post-launch analysis to evaluate product performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Continuously iterate and improve the product based on user feedback, market trends, and business goals.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 3+ years of Product Management experience with eCommerce shopping platforms (mobile and web)
- 2+ years of experience with Shopify in a platform or product related position
- Must have led user focus groups and customer interactions to gather data (discovery phase of Product Management)
- Must have led products from concept to delivery
- Experience in developing eCommerce analytical reports (conversion rate, click-through rate, cost per acquisition, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Master's or higher educational degree
- 5+ years of Product Management experience
- Previous responsibilities related to managing the customer online shopping experience
- Global experience is highly preferred (South America, Asia, Europe)
- Experience working on Global platforms
