Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to one of the following locations: Detroit, MI, Warren, MI, Austin, TX or Roswell, GA, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.
The Role:
The Azure Security Engineer is a technical leadership position which requires leading the definition and implementation of cloud security technology direction, standards, and policy across GM business units or multi-functional IT organizations. This position is responsible for building and maintaining the cloud security posture, integrating into DevSecOps processes, and automating controls.

What You'll Do:
- Designing and implementing Secure Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS Solutions (covering Identity, Networking, Storage, Containers)
- Implementing cloud security controls in a hybrid cloud environment
- Provide, technical leadership to execution teams for development and integration
- Stays abreast of new security technology and competitive products and defines GM direction
- Provide, communicate, and support common best practices among the Cyber Security community
- Performs other related duties as assigned. Actively participates in hiring, development of technical questionnaires, resume reviews and performs interviews
- Defines and leads Cyber Security strategy for new technology, highly complex features, or significant improvements for current, new, or major programs
- Build cloud governance
- Responsible for specifying Cybersecurity requirements, execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing and control of major engineering projects where creativity and initiative is necessary as well as a high level of independent judgment
- Exercises technical direction over other engineers or engineering support personnel
- Microservices and Container (AKS) deployment
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- 7+ years experience in a Security function
- Bachelor Science in Computer Science or similar technical IT degree
- Programming/Scripting Ability
- Public Cloud Experience (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Knowledge of Cyber Defense operations for cloud infrastructure
- DevSecOps Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening skills, ability to illustrate abstract models using concrete examples, ability to facilitate discussion of diverse points of view while maintaining group focus on the subject at hand
- Proven ability to keep engaged and lead a high-performing team
- Have strong troubleshooting skills to quickly assess problems and develop resolutions
- Ability to make recommendations on process improvements and drive change throughout organization
- Infrastructure as Code (IAC) experience (ARM/Bicep, Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi)
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- 10+ years experience in a Security function
- Master Science in Computer Science or similar technical IT degree
- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification
- Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert
