Job Description Summary

This role involves flashing GM development and fleet vehicles with the latest software releases while ensuring proper documentation and compliance with Functional Safety guidelines. Key tasks include retrieving vehicle part numbers and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), updating software per instructions and conducting quick vehicle function checks. The position also requires submitting DTCs and part pull data to a database, closing work tickets, and collaborating with other teams to troubleshoot and ensure successful flashing. Primarily performed in parking lots, this role prioritizes safety and requires the legal ability to operate a motor vehicle regularly.

  • Flash GM development and fleet vehicles with latest released software.
  • Ensure no vehicles are flashed without proper safety release documentation.
  • Obtain vehicle part numbers and Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
  • Update software in vehicles per instructions.
  • Perform quick vehicle function check.
  • Submit DTC and part pull information into database and close work ticket.
  • Work closely with other teams to troubleshoot and ensure successful flashing.
  • Work will primarily be performed in vehicles located in parking lots.
  • Adhere to all safety precautions and requirements and treat safety as the top priority during all work activities.
  • This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis.

Additional Description

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years working in an automotive environment.
  • High level of ability to work independently.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of major automotive systems and subsystems.
  • Knowledge of serial data communications.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of relevant technologies (eg. EPS, Infotainment, Active Safety, Cybersecurity,)
  • Understanding of verification and validation processes.
  • Experience or knowledge of flashing tools.
  • Report onsite full time from 7AM - 3PM+.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience mentoring newer colleagues.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Solid understanding of Functional Safety.
  • Understanding of software management process.
  • Familiarity with GM software architecture and flashing techniques.
  • Experience working with relevant flashing tools.

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington

  • Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is : $68,900 - $105,700 . Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
