Description

The position of Real Estate Project Manager is responsible for leasing, acquisition, and disposition of real property assets within GME. Strong administrative ability, innovative thinking, organizational agility, and strategic decision-making skills are key competencies required. The role includes travel, site searches, meetings with stakeholders, transaction strategy, meeting timelines, providing support for business unit budgeting, and other real estate activities as required.

The position also includes acting as the Real Estate customer relationship manager to assigned internal GM customers such as Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing & Supply Chain, Product Development, and Connected Customer Experience. The Real Estate Project Manager negotiates real estate contracts including all business terms and contract language related to routine and complex real estate transactions directly with owners, buyers, sellers, landlords, and others and manages and oversees activities of stakeholders involved in the project including legal, environmental, consultants and brokers involved in the transactions or with the property.

The Real Estate Project Manager must effectively manage cross-functional teams to successfully complete transactions. They should demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, respond promptly to business unit needs, and ensure consistent delivery of real estate services in accordance with policies and procedures. Additionally, they will manage the workflow of corporate real estate documents and information.

The role includes making periodic presentations to senior management at the divisional and corporate level. Periodically the role will include working with Public Policy and interface with local authorities relative to land use and permitting matters, entitlements, and other property use matters.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate their experience and capability to lead real estate projects involving internal stakeholders and external resources and be skilled in negotiations, financial analysis and a broad range of real estate matters including legal and environmental.
  • The ability to develop and maintain customer relationships is critical to the position.
  • The individual should demonstrate strong business acumen, solid interpersonal and leadership skills, and be highly motivated, organized, creative, and success oriented.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Microsoft Teams.
  • B.A./B.S. in Business/Finance/Real Estate.
  • Candidates must be willing to relocate to Zurich.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates should have a diverse range of real estate experience over a minimum of 7 years including corporate real estate, local brokerage/tenant representation with an emphasis on transaction experience (preferred)
  • Economic development, real estate investment & development experience a plus.
