On - Site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Lansing Stamping, on a full-time basis.

The Role:

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for managing all quality systems by following GMS (Global Manufacturing System) Built-in-Quality standards. You will be responsible to hold all manufacturing teams responsible for following all required quality processes internally as well as the supply base. You will also be responsible to building strong relationships with customers and suppliers while you exercise your ability to address and solve complex problems within the manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Corrective action and tracking for IPPM & PPM results and developing annual business plan for Quality to align with corporate stamping goals.
  • Support Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes across multiple departments.
  • Lead launch and pilot activities in assigned areas while helping to meet or exceed production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of quality standards, and communicates department quality goals, and utilizes resources to solve quality issues.
  • Lead PPS (Practical Problem Solving) activities through engagement of the salary and hourly teams down to the hourly team member level.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management.
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking to build new quality processes while maintaining strict discipline adherence to current quality processes.
  • Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping.
  • Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods.
  • Achieve operation quality requirements of IPPM (internal parts per million), PPM (Parts per million), and adherence to manufacturing responsible field actions.
  • Meet Global Quality requirements.

Additional Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering field.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a quality environment.

  • Plant Floor Change Management
  • PQRS - Process Quality Requirement Systems
  • Experience in FMEA (Failure Mode Affects Analysis)
  • Experience with PCP's (Process Control Plans)
  • Experience in quality systems
  • Launch experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • High level problem solving
  • Ability to work OT
  • Ability to work an off shift (as required)
  • Building effective teams
  • High level communication skills
  • Excel, PowerPoint and Word experience
