Onsite : This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Tonawanda New York on a full-time basis. This position may require working various shifts and overtime .
The Role:
As a Quality Engineer , your role involves serving as a technical liaison between production operations, engineering, suppliers, and supplier quality. You will be responsible for problem-solving both internal and customer-driven issues.

What You'll Do:
- Follow and enforce all Site Safety Guidelines.
- Interact with production and engineering on issues and containment.
- Audit elements of the GM Quality Manual and GMS Built-In Quality Statements.
- Review and approve Standardized Work for the assigned department, ensuring compliance with Tonawanda Quality Standards.
- Drive problem-solving and lead resolution for supplier, internal, and customer quality issues.
- Ensure effective containment and resolution for identified non-conforming products.
- Communicate emerging issues.
- Support the PTR Process by running PTRs and evaluating their impact on the product/function.
- Review and approve Plant Floor Change Management Requests for the assigned department.
- Support department scrap reduction initiatives.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and work independently.
- This position may require the ability to work various shifts and overtime based on business needs.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively collaborate with various levels of the organization.
- Ability to solve difficult and complex problems by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Willingness to ask questions, take initiative, and be resourceful.
- Knowledge of GMS principles and practices.
This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
Compensation
- The expected base compensation for this role is: $68,900.00 - $105,700.00. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
