Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as on-site. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Advanced Technical Center in Shanghai, China five times per week.
The Role -
This role involves ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of diagnostic systems within our active safety features. With significant in-vehicle and lab work, along with related analytical and performance verification activities. Quality Diagnostics Engineer engage in cross-functional teams, are expected to handle multiple projects/priorities, and frequently need to balance planned and unplanned work.
A typical week includes in-vehicle and bench testing, lab/bench/analytical activities, and collaboration with suppliers and hardware engineers. Quality Diagnostics Engineer participate in offsite testing trips as well as onsite program team vehicle evaluations.

What You'll Do -
- Plan and execute overall diagnostic development plan.
- Perform static and dynamic testing of ADAS components diagnostics (cameras, radar, lidar).
- Develop data event recorder configuration and maintain it throughout the project lifecycle.
- Compile and track diagnostic-related Jira Tickets.
- Verify software implementation for compliance with global standards and China regulations (e.g., China GB logger requirements).
- Conduct wire-by-wire analysis and create responsibility lists for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
- Analyze data from various sensors to ensure system accuracy and reliability.
- Maintain and update diagnostic databases and spreadsheets (e.g., degradation action for each DTC).
- Support resolution of vehicle, plant, durability/dyno, or customer issues
- Implement and verify software updates for diagnostic systems.
- Ensure all communication DTCs and warning lights request DTCs are operating as expected.
- Work closely with hardware teams to plan and execute testing.
- Coordinate with SAFe Agile workstream teams to ensure software meets regulatory requirements.
- Document degradation architecture and confirm all DTCs (communication, microprocessor, performance).
- Provide detailed reports and recommendations based on diagnostic findings.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of relevant job-related engineering experience.
- Experience with Serial Data busses, including LIN, CAN, Ethernet, Flexray
- Familiar with BSW, Classic and Adaptive Autosar.
- Proven experience in AD/ADAS testing and diagnostics.
- Strong knowledge of OBD architecture and diagnostic standards.
- Proficiency in data analysis and diagnostic software tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication in English and Mandarin
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with integrated data recorder setup for triage of field issues.
- Familiarity with global diagnostic standards (e.g., CARB, GB).
- Ability to manage and track multiple diagnostic-related tasks and JIRA tickets.
