The Role:

The responsibilities of this role are to manage / coordinate PTRs (production trial run) to validate material / part changes driven by engineering work order, BTAB (business transfer) and supplier tooling. This position works closely with various stakeholders, internal and external including in plant supply chain, engineering (design, quality and supplier), 3rd party material handling, and suppliers across global supply chain. Manage CCA and SPAC requests for the plant.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities include, but are not limited to):

  • Track all current and future engineering change (both permanent and temporary), manage PTR schedule with plant buildability (production).
  • Order PTR material, ensure timely delivery and clear material labeling.
  • Assist with receipt of PTR material and coordinate delivery to appropriate plant location.
  • Support plant engineering change coordinator to ensure appropriate timing for part changes (breakpoints).
  • Ensure robust PTR status communication through various channels (weekly meetings, updates to multiple systems, database).
  • Work closely with quality / design / supplier engineering throughout PTR process.
  • Review BTAB (business transfer) and supplier tooling changes, manage PTR process as required.
  • Create weekly CCA workbook. Create the build schedule for Body Shop.
  • Managing the CCA Trucks and empty racks.
  • Manage all SPAC request for the plant, packing and shipping the part requests.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Post-secondary education
  • 2+ years related working experience
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage large volume of time sensitive tasks / activities
  • Quick learner, able to adapt quickly in production critical manufacturing environment
  • Effective communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization as well as supply base
  • Process oriented with focus on continuous improvement
  • Computer skills, MS office, proficiency in Excel, some work with Access
  • Extreme attention to detail

What Gives You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills and Experience):

  • Quality engineering experience and / or education highly preferred
  • Knowledge of automotive supply chains and material
  • Experience in automotive / manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with GM Systems and processes (MGO, GSIP, PPAP) Management Level
