On-site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Lansing Delta Township ASSY on a full-time basis.

The Role:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing salaried group leaders in the implementation and execution of established business processes within the production operations. This role involves fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. The work is technical in nature, requiring independent judgment within the framework of GMS, with a focus on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Must possess the ability to address complex problems and supervise a large group of salaried employees across multiple departments and processes.

What You'll Do:

In this role, you will coach, train, develop and evaluate employees. You will provide assistance in analyzing and solving complex manufacturing problems, and assist in obtaining resources to effectively perform operations in addition to the following:

  • Nearly constant contact with others outside the work group
  • Administers divisional and Corporate policies
  • Meets cost, schedule and quality requirements
  • Maintains Corporate and unit management control systems, budget and other information necessary to monitor performance in addition to maintaining safety and good housekeeping standards
  • Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements
  • Assist in the forecasting of areas of responsibility and Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job or project

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 5+ years of experience in an Automotive Assembly Plant (OEM preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lead problem solving activities and leverage analytical abilities.
  • Leadership/Management Experience (UAW, Salaried, Skilled Trades or similar)
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes (CIP)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Must be able to work any shift

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS) Production experience
  • Experience within General Assembly preferred
  • Experience in applying 6 pillars of quality process to meet BIQ IV
