Work Arrangement

Onsite - This role requires the the employee to be onsite full time. The primary work location will be the General Motors Global Technical Center in Warren, MI. This role will require occasional travel to Kokomo, IN and other manufacturing sites. Expected travel between 25-75%

The Role:

We are seeking a process engineer to join our Manufacturing System Design and Deployment organization within the Autonomous Robotic Center. Responsible for developing manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary to produce autonomous robotics parts and assemblies. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative is exercised as well as independent judgment.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Manufacturing process definition for robot manufacturing
  • Sequence of operations for efficient and flexible autonomous robot manufacturing that meet first time quality targets
  • Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high-quality assemblies
  • Establishing efficient material flow for robot production
  • Development and testing of advanced process technology.

Additional Description

Your Skills & &Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of professional experience manufacturing engineering
  • 3+ years of professional experience managing major projects including new product launches
  • 3+ years of professional experience providing technical direction and leadership of outside vending sources or body shop process leadership
  • Demonstrated success in design for manufacturing (DFM) on new product launch
  • Demonstrated knowledge in electrical processing and testing in manufacturing setting
  • Ability to travel for tooling buyoff / plant deployment for multiple consecutive weeks
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Masters of Science in Engineering
  • Controls/Robotics Experience
  • Certified Project Manager
  • 6-sigma Green or Blackbelt
  • QPM
  • Final Line/Fixtures experience preferred based on unique job classification at Kokomo Assembly Plant
