On-site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Grand Rapids Operations on a full-time basis.
The Role:
The career level Manufacturing Engineer will be skilled in manufacturing equipment, tooling and process improvements and overall manufacturing process support. The work is performed in a manufacturing environment where innovation, creativity and initiative are used to support current manufacturing operations. The work will be focused in gears machining and grinding.

What You'll Do:
- Responsible for supporting activities that may include:
- Ensure all manufacturing technical documentation is up to date.
- Provide technical direction and oversight of internal resources and external vendor resources.
- Assist team members in problem solving and improving overall equipment efficiency.
- Provide day-to-day support of manufacturing operations and maintenance.
- Work with cross functional team members to resolve issues related to quality, process, and equipment.
- Participate in identifying and resolving safety and ergonomics issues.
- Facilitate and or train team members and maintenance personnel. Develop training manuals as needed.
- Participate in planning and coordination activities to ensure all project tasks are completed within prescribed time frame and budget parameters.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in engineering support role in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing
- Previous experience with computer- based office and engineering software, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
- Must be able to work on 2nd Shift
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of high-volume precision grinding and machining
- Knowledge of gear manufacturing
- Knowledge of SolidWorks
