Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role
The Senior Auditor will participate and lead on audit assignments and support Audit Management in the planning and execution of audits in line with the vision and strategy of General Motor Audit Services (GMAS).
GMAS provides independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to strengthen General Motors Company's operations. The objective of GMAS is to assist senior management and the board in the effective discharge of their responsibilities by providing independent controls assurance, analysis, recommendations, and information concerning activities reviewed. The scope of GMAS responsibility and work includes, but is not limited to, evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the Company's risk management, internal control and governance processes, as well as the quality of performance in carrying out the Company's stated goals and objectives.

What You'll Do:
- Execute audit projects as part of the audit team or Lead a team of audit staff in execution of Audits.
- Perform Continuous Business Monitoring and Risk Assessment
- Participate and Lead planning and scoping of audits, with support from the Audit Manager
- Develop audit plans including identification of risks and procedures to test
- Review workpapers for accuracy, adequate testing coverage, and appropriate documentation
- Maintain and update risk and control matrices for assigned audits
- Participate and Lead status meetings with the business unit / auditee
- Draft issues ensuring the root cause is accurately identified and that management action plans are developed that address the root cause. Assign an initial issue rating in conjunction with the audit team.
- Draft the audit report, including rating and report conclusions
- Proactively communicate audit results with GMAS management and business owners for alignment
- Work with other team members to Develop recommendations for audit issues identified to achieve a balanced control environment
- Represent GMAS and interface with the business and service lines
- Present and discuss audit issues with client management
- Monitor timeline and budgets for audit planning, execution, and reporting
- Provide or assist in providing training, coaching and guidance to Internal Audit staff in conducting audits and other audit-related issues
- Assist staff in difficult situations including resolving conflicts
- Collaborate with other GMAS service lines as One Team to accomplish audit objectives
- Develop a good understanding of GM operations worldwide
- Build strong relationships with the business and service lines
- Participate in ongoing professional development
- Serve as a brand ambassador for 'One GMAS
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Effective English and Mandarin oral and written communication skills including:
- Advanced experience in English report writing
- Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin with ability to describe complex problems in a simple and concise way - Bachelor's degree with major in accounting or business administration or related area equivalent experience
- Significant Internal audit or relevant experience or combined auditing, accounting, consulting, or process re-engineering experience
- Big 4 CPA Firm experience
- At least 5 years experience in internal or external auditing combined
- High level of integrity
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrates positive, proactive attitude
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to continuously learn and demonstrate intellectual curiosity

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Professional certification (CIA, CPA or other similar certification)
- Relevant Industry Experience in automotive industry
- Familiarity with SOX and FCPA requirements and IIA standards
- Operational experience in manufacturing, sales and marketing, purchasing, engineering, etc.
