The Role:
As a Launch Quality Engineer, you will need to be able to work autonomously, with occasional guidance from supervision. You will be responsible for implementation of our GM quality systems and requirements into the new product/manufacturing line, coordinating and leading the Manufacturing Quality Readiness Reviews, development of quality targets/glidepath and monitoring performance, and supporting in the development of and validation of manufacturing processes, equipment and tooling.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Manage the BIQ section of the PLOW, includes implementation of GM/BIQ Quality system requirements.
- Participate in product development and early learning activities
- Develop, maintain, and communicate product quality standards
- Monitor and communicate quality performance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Review non-conforming material for proper disposition and problem-solving activities.
- Lead projects with broad scope and medium degree of difficulty
- Work cross functionally with internal and external teams to solve complex problems.
Additional Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to attain results, while balancing technical solutions with business imperatives
- Solid analytical/problem solving skills with capability to identify solutions to unusual and complex problems
- Generate technical solutions utilizing 7 Diamonds, Red X, DFMEA and other tools as applicable
- Exercises independent judgment in managing complex and ambiguous tasks with minimal input from supervisor
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Strong team orientation, availability and willingness to work off shift and weekend schedules as needed.
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Proficient in use of Q-Stat, FIT and VisMock-Up or UG
- Understanding of Process Control Plans and Process Failure Modes Effect Analysis
- Demonstrated effective use of Red X Problem Solving
- Knowledge and experience in foundry operations
