Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business. The RoleThe Senior Auditor will participate and lead on audit assignments and support Audit Management in the planning and execution of audits in line with the vision and strategy of General Motor Audit Services (GMAS).GMAS provides independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to strengthen General Motors Company's operations. The objective of GMAS is to assist senior management and the board in the effective discharge of their responsibilities by providing independent controls assurance, analysis, recommendations, and information concerning activities reviewed. The scope of GMAS responsibility and work includes, but is not limited to, evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the Company's risk management, internal control and governance processes, as well as the quality of performance in carrying out the Company's stated goals and objectives.What You'll Do:Execute audit projects as part of the audit team or Lead a team of audit staff in execution of Audits.Perform Continuous Business Monitoring and Risk AssessmentParticipate and Lead planning and scoping of audits, with support from the Audit ManagerDevelop audit plans including identification of risks and procedures to testReview workpapers for accuracy, adequate testing coverage, and appropriate documentationMaintain and update risk and control matrices for assigned auditsParticipate and Lead status meetings with the business unit / auditeeDraft issues ensuring the root cause is accurately identified and that management action plans are developed that address the root cause. Assign an initial issue rating in conjunction with the audit team. Draft the audit report, including rating and report conclusionsProactively communicate audit results with GMAS management and business owners for alignmentWork with other team members to Develop recommendations for audit issues identified to achieve a balanced control environmentRepresent GMAS and interface with the business and service linesPresent and discuss audit issues with client managementMonitor timeline and budgets for audit planning, execution, and reportingProvide or assist in providing training, coaching and guidance to Internal Audit staff in conducting audits and other audit-related issuesAssist staff in difficult situations including resolving conflictsCollaborate with other GMAS service lines as One Team to accomplish audit objectivesDevelop a good understanding of GM operations worldwideBuild strong relationships with the business and service linesParticipate in ongoing professional developmentServe as a brand ambassador for 'One GMAS'
