Hybrid. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan three times per week, at minimum. The RoleThe Analysis (CAE) Engineer will be responsible to build and execute one dimensional electrical sub-system and component models for electrical components like Batteries, fuses, cables, connectors, busbar and other high and low voltage electrical components. The analysis engineer will be also responsible to develop new 1D electrical systems analysis.The Analysis (CAE) Engineer will interpret and present results to decision makers at key program gates for GM Global Vehicle Development Program. Analyst will be required to interact closely with team members and work cross functionally to deliver standard work, root cause analysis, compare analytical results to tests, develop new analysis capabilities, and identify analytical gaps.What You'll DoDevelop high and low voltage electrical systems models using tools like Saber, Matlab, Simulink and SimscapePerform electrical circuit analysis to deliver design solutions which are robust and reliable utilizing optimization and statistical methods when appropriateWork collaboratively with Propulsion/ Battery System integration engineers, Electrical Architects, and component hardware design teams to ensure system requirements are met, design concepts are evaluated, and development and validation plans are successfulCollaborate with other CAE teams to integrate higher fidelity models like battery cell electrochemistry and thermal/CFD into electrical system simulationsEnsure on time delivery of high-quality results

Your Skills Abilities (Required Qualifications)BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering2+ years of Engineering experienceExperience in Synopsys Saber Product or comparable Electrical Data Analysis tool products like Spice, PLECS, Simulink, SimscapeExperience in analysis of low and high voltage systems with electrified vehicles (BEV, EREV, PHEV, HEV, BAS)Excellent understanding and application of engineering theory and principles of operation for electrical mechanismsExcellent understanding of electrical systems, controls and component development / validationEngineering experience in design, analysis or testing of electrical componentsWhat Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)Experience with development and usage of CAE/CAD toolsStrong debugging and troubleshooting skillsBlack belt in performing DFSS analysisThis job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
