Senior Group Product Manager, Commercial Software - Safety SecurityHybrid: This role is categorized as Hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical Center in Mountain View, CA three times per week, at minimum.The General Motors Commercial Software Team is responsible for delivering Digital experiences that enable business fleet, vehicle rental, and government customers to operate their vehicles more safely and effectively. We create digital touchpoints that increase customer loyalty and offer safety, security, and fleet management applications, as well as insights, APIs, and data services to maximize the value of GM vehicles.The Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Group Product Manager with strong technical, influential, and strategic abilities to drive the success of our Commercial Software Platform, the foundational experience for all of GM's commercial software products.This position will be focused on software products related to safety and security within our Fleet business. This will be a very key leadership position focused on high revenue growth products within the Commercial Software team.What You'll Do Lead and Develop: Lead a team of 3-5 skilled product managers dedicated to building experiences that help our commercial customers leverage connected vehicle data to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance decision-making.Product Lifecycle Management: Guide the product team through the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to development, beta, launch, and sustaining, ensuring that product milestones align with customer and strategic goals.Customer and Market Insights: Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, the market, and the competitive landscape to guide the team in creating customer-centric products.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with senior leadership, business, design, engineering, and other stakeholders throughout GM to align on priorities, gain buy-in, and ensure successful execution of product initiativesExcellence in Execution: Ensure the highest standards in product experience and execution. Engage hands-on in writing and reviewing requirements, evaluating designs, attending customer calls, participating in scrum ceremonies, and mentoring PMs.Senior Leadership Communication: Regularly meet with senior leadership to present and discuss product concepts, roadmaps, and business reviews.Platform Evangelism: Act as the primary advocate for the Commercial Software Platform, conveying its value to both internal and external audiences.

Your Skills Abilities (Required Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field10+ years of experience as a Product Manager building large-scale, data-driven software products in enterprise organizations3+ years of direct management experience with a proven ability to lead and motivate Product Management teamsExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levelsDemonstrated ability to use Big Data as a key ingredient in building products and servicesDemonstrates clear strategic thinking. Capable of evaluating various options, making effective trade-offs, and crafting clear and compelling plansExhibits a strong drive and sense of urgency, able to act swiftly and decisively while exercising sound judgmentExperience working effectively with B2B sales and marketing teamsWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) MBA / Business exposureUnderstanding of vehicle telematics and the fleet management industryExperience leading platform teams with both internal and external customersExperience building e-commerce experiences and driving product-led growthCompensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.The salary range for this role is $184,300 to $282,400. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.Benefits: GM offers a variety of health and wellbeing benefit programs.
