Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
As an Innovation & Integration Hardware Engineer (Technical Specialist) - Wire Harness Solutions, you will be at the forefront of advancing wire harness systems by integrating cutting-edge technologies and driving innovative solutions. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, exploring emerging technologies, and implementing forward-thinking strategies to optimize harness designs and manufacturing processes. Through continuous innovation, you will push the boundaries of efficiency, reliability, and quality in wire harness systems.

What You'll Do
- Identify, evaluate, and integrate innovative technologies such as automation, smart wiring solutions, and advanced materials to enhance wire harness systems.
- Collaborate closely with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to drive seamless adoption of new solutions while ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Lead the exploration and development of automation and digital integration strategies for wire harness installation and production.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for innovative technologies, focusing on ROI, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Work with suppliers, vendors, and industry partners to source and test new components and materials that push the boundaries of traditional wire harness design.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance reliability.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements, bringing fresh ideas to enhance wire harness performance and integration.
- Provide technical expertise and support during the implementation and scaling of new solutions within the manufacturing environment.
- Foster a culture of innovation by leading workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and cross-functional collaborations to accelerate technological adoption.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of new technologies and drive ongoing enhancements.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 5+ Years of Experiences in Wiring or Automotive Industries.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in implementing innovative solutions within manufacturing, automation, or wire harness integration.
- Strong understanding of wire harness design, installation, and associated challenges.
- Ability to develop and implement automation strategies for wire harness optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technology integration.
- Familiarity with industry standards, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements in manufacturing and automation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to bridge technical and operational perspectives.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- 8+ Years of Experiences in Wiring or Automotive Industries.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
