Work Arrangement
This role requires an employee to be onsite on a full time basis
What You'll Do
- Lead GP&MS Purchasing team (Sales & Marketing & Service, Indirect Material, Machine & Equipment Purchasing ) to achieve and exceed department and company goals
- Supervise Buyers on Sourcing projects for GM China for Sourcing on time with most technically qualified supplier at best negotiated price and best Total Enterprise Cost
- Co-ordinate with Global and Local purchasing team on Global sourcing packages
- Guide / Support Buyers on Sourcing Strategies, Benchmarking, Cost Driver Analysis, Negotiations, Stakeholders(Including Finance & legal) and Supplier relations Management
- Manage Escalations and Management Special Requests
- Work with buyers to develop annual budget sourcing plan and other IO required reports for GM China GP & MS to GMIO
- As one of GM China SRB members from GP&MS and GM China MOC(Management of Change) process Champion, to lead and monitor MOC process implementation from Purchasing side
- Provide purchasing process training to stakeholders when needed
- People Management and Career Development planning for the reporting teams

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Knowledge
- Indirect Purchasing experience, especially for Marketing, Sales, Service.
- Proficiency in handling global/regional sourcing packages
- Good Functional knowledge of Business Process and Sourcing Procedures
- Good knowledge of Business compliance
- In-depth knowledge of Cost Drivers and Negotiation tools
- Working knowledge of ERP (SAP) and MS Office
- Understanding of Potential Business risks

- Effective Communication skills and ability to interact effectively with local/overseas GP&MS staff, internal stakeholders (for relationship management) and external suppliers
- Self-motivated people who take initiatives and deliver value to the company
- Problem identification, Root Causing and Suggesting corrective and preventive actions, keeping future risk in mind
- Elevated level of analytical ability to crunch data into meaningful reports to help in decision making
- Obtain market based technical expertise - influence of consumers with respect to overall outcome that does not depend only on price, benchmarking, supplier negotiations
- Maximize Business Opportunities
- People Management and delegation
- Fluent communication skills in English
Experience/Education:
The individual should be a Bachelor in Engineering / Science/ Business Administration or Commerce with 10+ Year experience in purchasing which includes leading similar functions
