The Role:

You will partner closely with UAW Joint Program representatives, the labor leadership team and plant leadership teams to provide UAW-GM Joint Program direction, coaching, support and development under the provisions of the UAW-GM National Agreement, Taft-Hartley Trust structure and direction from Executive Board Joint Activities. You will effectively collaborate with all functional and internal partners on alignment to joint programs and will demonstrate negotiation and influencing skills.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Provide Labor Relations support and counsel to Management and union on aspects of Joint Programs including ADAPT, Diversity, and Work/Family as appropriate for employees represented by the UAW
  • Administer, enforce, interpret collective agreements between the Company and its represented workforces with regard to joint programs as appropriate
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Union partners to support joint programs
  • Collaborate with functional leadership, business partners and plant partners to align joint programs to business requirements
  • Assume an active role in the preparation and participation of UAW-GM National Negotiations, to include participation and leadership in sub-committees
  • Jointly Lead National Equal Applications Committee
  • Support UAW-GM Trust and Charter Committees
  • Develop training materials and lead training as required
  • Support other Joint Programs as necessary

Additional Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years experience in Automotive Manufacturing Environment
  • 2 years of experience working with Unions and Labor contracts
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint and all other internal business systems as required
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong data analytics and ability to summarize complex information and present/explain to others
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of leadership, including Senior Leaders within the Company and the Union
  • Comfortable speaking in large groups
  • Comfortable working with union colleagues.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time within United States.

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master Degree
  • 7 years experience in Automotive Manufacturing Environment
  • Working knowledge of UAW-GM National Agreement
  • Familiarity with Joint Programs including ADAPT, Diversity, and Work/Family
  • Experience working with union colleagues
  • Plant experience
  • Negotiations experience
