Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
As a Global Security Investigator you will assist in developing and implementing investigative programs, processes and standard operating procedures for the Global Security Investigations team.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify trends and emerging issues which may require future investigative activity.
- Remain compliant with applicable legal requirements and General Motors Policies/Procedures.
- Coordinate and oversee the activities with Outside Investigative Agencies (OIA) as applicable.
- Support the development and measurement of goals and objectives for continuous improvement of investigative programs.
- Create investigation reports that include clear and concise documentation at a level that would support employment action, filing of charges/prosecution by an administrative agency/court of law, or other corrective action.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Seven years' progressively responsible, investigations-related experience.
- Experience interviewing and obtaining written statements from individuals.
- Working knowledge of international, federal, state, and local criminal law and rules of evidence pertaining to theft, fraud, drugs, and employment law.
- Basic understanding of lawful investigatory practices including interviewing practices, privacy rights, surveillance techniques, search and seizure, and risk assessments.
- Ability to lead work within a team environment on complex and confidential issues.
- Prepare accurate, clear, concise reports, presentations, and records.
- Possess excellent communication skills to present complex information to management and co-workers, and to conduct investigations.
- Competent planning, project management, organization, and time management skills needed to appropriately prioritize and complete special projects and daily work.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to travel on short notice as work assignments require.
What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school.
- Law enforcement or corporate investigation experience.
- Basic understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), including civil and criminal remedies.
- Working knowledge of commonly used drugs and detection techniques.
- Proficiency with EthicsPoint Incident Management / AIMS tool (GM's case management and anonymous reporting tool).
- Knowledge of multiple languages is beneficial but not required.
